Purpose
Open Graph and Twitter-card metadata help external services display a useful preview when a ConsumerWise URL is shared. The preview is presentation metadata; it does not alter the legal or editorial status of the underlying page.
Global default image
ConsumerWise uses /assets/og.png as the global default social image unless a page has an explicit custom override. A single default prevents pages without artwork from producing inconsistent or broken previews.
Page-specific text
The image can be global while the title, description and canonical URL remain page-specific. Those fields should describe the actual page, not contain clickbait or wording that implies a stronger legal conclusion than the guide itself.
Privacy
The Open Graph image is served by ConsumerWise. The public site does not need to load a social-network tracking script merely to provide share metadata. When another service fetches the image or page metadata to create a preview, that request is made by that external service under its own systems.
Maintenance
New pages should inherit the default image automatically unless there is a deliberate reason for a custom card. Renames and canonical changes should update Open Graph and Twitter metadata together with the sitemap and search index.
