Citizens Advice route guide

What to do after receiving consumer advice

Convert advice into a written action plan, verify the route, preserve deadlines and avoid sending the same unfocused complaint everywhere.

Advice becomes useful when it changes the next action

After speaking to an adviser, record what you understood, which facts remain uncertain, who should act next and by when. Advice is not an adjudication of disputed evidence. Use it to improve the complaint or choose the correct route, then follow the formal requirements of the organisation that will decide the matter.
